The title sequence received the "Citation of Excellence" at the 2005 ADDY Awards in the category of "Animation or Special Effects in Film/Video." Also cited by AdFed were 'Philip R. Garrett (I)' (producer), and David Ball and 'Robb Dierken (I)', both of 'Spacejunk Media [us]'.
The French Chateau is actually an historic landmark from the turn of the century horse stable in Mechanicsburg, Ohio built by writer John Wing who was influenced by European architecture. The interiors were shot on location, but on the 2nd floor, doubling for the 1st floor.
Almost all of the weapons used in the film are authentic WWII weapons, some of which had been modified to become gas-powered, fully-automatic blank firing weapons. Special attention was paid by Ken Wilson, the weapons master, to the authenticity of the look of all of the weapons in the film.
