Some of the aircraft in the film are real and others a computer generated. The real planes were filmed in Conneaut, Ohio in September 2004, including a P51 Mustang.

The French Chateau is actually an historic landmark from the turn of the century horse stable in Mechanicsburg, Ohio built by writer John Wing who was influenced by European architecture. The interiors were shot on location, but on the 2nd floor, doubling for the 1st floor.

Almost all of the weapons used in the film are authentic WWII weapons, some of which had been modified to become gas-powered, fully-automatic blank firing weapons. Special attention was paid by Ken Wilson, the weapons master, to the authenticity of the look of all of the weapons in the film.

During the graveyard scene, the special effects team rigged the graveyard and headstones with explosives to create the illusion of live fire shelling.

The makeup department had to cover actor Megan Pillar's wrist with flesh colored base to cover a large tattoo. Pillar also had to flip her Septum nose ring into her nostrils for her scenes.
