Trivia:

The film was inspired by a series of spots made for MTV as idents to go between music videos. The team behind the project first made them in the hope that MTV would air them at least once, but MTV loved them. They were soon picked up by all the MTV regions in Europe, Canada, South America, Australia and Asia. They even dubbed the spots into German. It wasn't long before they commissioned more spots, and even flew the guys to London to shoot some "Crazy Monkey in the UK".

Clever & Witty South African humor

This happens to be the only South African movie containing really clever and witty type of humor (unlike moronic Leon Shuster movies) - comic timing is perfect :-) Also, us South Africans are sick and tired of seeing blood, crime, and anything AIDS related - this has been shoved down our throats all the time, on the news, in the print media as well as with other SA movies. Straight outta Benoni is a real breath of fresh air!

You have to be south African to truly appreciate it. There is also a need for your brain cells to make contact at least once in a while - viewers who dislike the movie are simply too dumb to get it. WELL DONE BOYS :-) WE WANT MORE
