Everyone I know who's seen this film, Brethren, has been blown away by it's honest look at a crisis of faith from a very personal and fresh perspective. I have shown the film to kids and adults of all ages and it has held everyones interest and generated a good deal of discussion afterward. Never preachy, it is a personal journey of faith blended with an interesting look at the American love of motorcycles, particularly the Harley Davidson. Thomsen, the writer and director, takes us on the road with him to Daytona Beach to a biker rally where we meet several motorcycle ministers. These are the real deal; bikers who have "seen the light", and Thomsen captures some very intimate dialog while he digs to the core of personal spiritual beliefs with humor and dignity. I hope to see more from this talented young director/writer.
