Heidi Klum Goes Topless in Tulum

16 April 2014 11:40 AM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Hope Heidi Klum is wearing some sunscreen. The former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model went topless in Tulum, Mexico, on Tuesday, enjoying a day at the beach and in the ocean with Vito Schnabel. The America's Got Talent" judge, 40, has been spotted all over recently with the 27-year-old art dealer and son of director Julian Schnabel (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly). The two were seen touring Paris art galleries in March and kissing over Oscar weekend. The Project Runway host (who might want to ask contestants to make her a top next time) ended her two-and-a-half year relationship with bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kirsten in January. »

Film Execs Talk Shifting the Focus to TV

When it comes to the current film market — seek diversification, spread risk and focus on television.

That’s according to experts like Alcon Entertainment’s Scott Parish, E2B Capital’s Cassian Elwes, Weinstein CFO, Andy Kim and Ep Financial Solutions John Hadity. Execs talked money flow, casting, the reliability of the Monte Carlo Method and shifting the focus to television at Tuesday’s Film Finance Forum East presented by Winston Baker in association with Variety in New York.

“(Weinstein) is always looking to expand into other areas,” Kim said. “One is obviously television.”

While Weinstein Co. experienced past success in the reality genre with “Project Runway,” the banner has made a strategic move into dramatic television.

In January, Netflix announced a deal to exclusively distribute the Weinstein Co. produced nine-episode series “Marco Polo” about the famed 13th Century explorer. The series will be available to Netflix subscribers sometime late in »

Chris Colfer will appear on an episode of Hot in Cleveland, according to TVLine. He’ll play the son of Wendy Malick‘s soap star Joy.

TV Land is reviving Candid Camera for a 10-episode summer run. Peter Funt, son of original Candid Camera host Allen Funt will host the new version which promises to be “daring but respectful”. I hope that means it’ll aim higher than the last reality TV-style revival of Candid Camera.  Also, please bring back the theme song from the 70′s version of the series.

The “Bates Motel” Staying Open for Another Season, “Game of Thrones” Opens Big and the “Justified” Finale

News

A&E has ordered a third season of Bates Motel. Good news for viewers, bad news for Norma Bates who just can’t catch a break.

At a press conference, Neil Patrick Harris responded to speculation about him taking over for David Letterman as Late Show host, “I’m super-focused on Hedwig at the moment, so that hasn’t even been a conversation at all.” He later added, “It would be an asinine amount of work.”

Meanwhile, as the speculation into the next Late Show host continues, TheWrap reports that CBS was talking with Chelsea Handler about hosting a syndicated talk show or taking over The Late Late Show when Letterman announced his retirement. Now, those talks have moved towards the Late Show spot.

Syfy has ordered 13 episodes of Olympus, a drama about a young man who grows to be someone capable of banishing the gods to Hades.

Fremantle Italia’s Business Model Focuses on Format, Puts Corporate Sponsorship Into Budget Mix

4 April 2014 10:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The boldest new format that FremantleMedia will be hawking at Mip is Italy’s “Masterpiece,” touted as the world’s first talent show for wannabe writers. Perhaps more important, “Masterpiece” stems from changes under way at Fremantle’s growing Italo outpost.

Before being rebranded in 2010 as FremantleMedia Italia, the company, then called Grundy, was known for producing long-running Italian soap “Un posto al sole” and police procedural “La squadra.”

Over the past three years, Fremantle Italia topper Lorenzo Mieli has shifted the company’s focus to formats, and developed a business model in which sponsors are becoming an integral part of the production process — on original productions as well as advertiser-funded adapted shows like “The X Factor,” “Italia’s Got Talent,” “Project Runway” and the upcoming Italo version of “Work of Art: The Next Great Artist,” now in advanced development (although Fremantle Italia is mum on possible underwriters). Gift Guide: Cane Toad Bow Tie

4 April 2014 8:00 AM, PDT | FEARnet | See recent FEARnet news »

There has been a resurgence in bow ties in the last few years. Tim Gunn of Project Runway and Jesse Tyler Ferguson of Modern Family have been big supporters of the bow tie recently, but I have a hard time believing that they would support these strange bow ties, made of cane toad skin. And what toad-skin bow tie would be complete without a head? The toad head is removable for the squeamish, but if you are squeamish, I can't imagine that you would want to buy a toad bow tie anyway.

Heidi Klum Shows Off Model-Perfect Bikini Body, Super-Fit Abs on Vacation in the Bahamas

Revisit the Stars Who Played Themselves on How I Met Your Mother

Over nine seasons, How I Met Your Mother has acquired an impressive list of celebrity guest appearances. There was Britney Spears as the dippy dermatologist's assistant obsessed with Ted (Josh Radnor). There was Bryan Cranston as the architect whose buildings always seemed to resemble - how shall we put this delicately? - male anatomy. Even Jane Seymour ditched Dr. Quinn's period attire for the sexy style of Marshall's (Jason Segel) cougar law school professor whom Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) just couldn't tame. But there's a much smaller circle of stars who've managed to do something even more unique: play themselves. »

“Enlisted” Goes on Break, “The Walking Dead” Finds Terminus and Who Wants to #CancelColbert?

News

I don’t know about this. A #CancelColbert hashtag showed up on Twitter over a tweet based on a joke that appeared on Wednesday’s Colbert Report that brought back racist caricature Ching-Chong Ding-Dong as part of coverage of the increasing controversy over the name of Washington’s football team. Part of me wants to scream at people who can’t tell the difference between a joke with racist motivations and a racist joke used to draw a parallel to racism directed at other groups. (Or to yell that you might want to rethink your outrage about racism towards Asian-Americans when the woman who wrote a book defending internment camps agrees with you.) Another part of me is thinking, “These people can’t be real, right?” Are these the people who tell studies that they think that Colbert is secretly really conservative? This is a set up to a bit, »

Ugh! These Super Skinny Supermodels Get To Have Their Cake–And Beach Bodies, Too!

No one is perfect–except for supermodels. For whatever reason, the most beautiful women in the world all happen to be able to eat whatever they want and never gain a pound! Don’t believe us? Well, we caught some of the world’s most beautiful women in the middle of eating incredibly fatty foods.

Obviously, you don’t have to be skinny to be beautiful, but it is often required to be a Victoria’s Secret angel or Sports Illustrated cover model. These women have to be willing to strip down to their bikinis at any time in public. So, you would think that supermodels would have the strictest and most stringent diet plans, but these beauties will put just about anything in their mouth!

AMC has ordered a pilot for a Kevin Smith talk show. The weekly show would adapt Smith’s podcast Hollywood Babble-On for TV which Smith describes as “Entertainment Tonight but filthy.”

Think you’ve seen Kit Harington naked thanks to that Game of Thrones scene in that rock pool? In a GQ profile, Harrington admits that scene featured a butt double. “I had a broken ankle… so the only time you saw my ass, it wasn’t my ass.” Instead a crew member with curly black hair and a great backside was asked to get a haircut to match Harrington and fill in.

The abs are definitely real, tho.

On Tuesday night, Syfy premieres “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge,” a reality series akin to “Project Runway” with 10 designers scrambling to make the next Yoda instead of an overflowing dress. The first episode features a sea animal assignment that ends with a screen test (and tears). The star of the series is Brian Henson, the company chairman, Jim’s oldest son and one of the judges. Brian started his career on the special effects team of 1984′s “Muppets Take Manhattan,” and his credits include 1986′s “Labyrinth,” 1990′s “The Witches” and the first “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” big-screen movie, where he acted as second-unit director.
