'X Factor' judge Kelly Rowland: Dating contestants is 'completely' against the rules

17 December 2013 7:00 AM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

"X Factor" judge and mentor Kelly Rowland appeared on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" Monday (Dec. 16), where she talked about, among other things, the "X Factor" policy on dating contestants -- which was apparently made very clear right from the get-go.

"It would completely be against the rules," Rowland says. "That was one of the first things they said. ... It's not professional."

Perhaps the "X Factor" producers were remembering back to the days of the "American Idol" scandal with Paula Abdul and Corey Clark. No fraternization now.

Anyway. Rowland also says that the hardest part for her was the audition round.

"I will say when we did auditions, that was the hardest part. There were people coming in and they have these voices ... and it didn't work out all the time. There was one guy who came in and he was so sweet and he had the voice »

After revealing the darkest depths of her drug and alcohol addictions on Dec. 9, Demi opened up about her recovery on ‘The Late Late Show.’ But during her inspirational one-on-one, the singer seemed to throw a little shade at one of her pop rivals. Do you think Demi dissed Miley on purpose?

And when Demi was on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Dec. 9, it was clear that Demi did Not approve of her fellow pop star’s lifestyle.

Demi Lovato: 'It's not about molly and partying,' being sober 'made my life so much better'

10 December 2013 7:10 AM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

"X Factor" mentor Demi Lovato appeared on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" Monday (Dec. 9), where she talked about her experience with drugs and alcohol and going to rehab at the young age of 18.

"I've done the whole partying thing, I've done the whole rehab thing. ... I've always been a really motivated, driven fighter so it's kind of like when I first got sober, I was like, 'I'm going to show all of you, you think I can't get sober? Watch me.'" says Lovato. But she adds that it turned into something she wanted to do for herself.

"I've stuck to it because it's made my life so much better," says the 21-year-old singer. "There's a lot of young people that look up to me and there needs to be someone that stands up and says it's not about molly and partying and all that stuff."

Zoë Saldana Gets Mistaken for Kerry Washington and Thandie Newton—Do You See the Resemblance?

9 December 2013 10:30 AM, PST | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Zoë Saldana is one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood, having appeared in blockbusters like Avatar, Star Trek and Pirates of the Caribbean. And yet, the 35-year-old movie star is often mistaken for two equally talented actresses: Kerry Washington and Thandie Newton. Instead of being offended by the innocuous comparisons, however, Saldana takes them in stride. "I'll be walking down the street and I'll have people go, 'Hey Thandie Newton!'" the Out of the Furnace star said during the Friday, Dec. 6, episode of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. "It's like, 'Oh my god, your show on TV is amazing, Ms. Washington.' It humbles you." Gotta love a girl »

Zoe Saldana gets mistaken for Kerry Washington, Thandie Newton on the street

Zoe Saldana can't walk down the street without being recognized ... but not as herself.

The "Out of the Furnace" star went on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on Friday (Dec. 6) and revealed that when she gets recognized on the street, it's not for her "Avatar" or "Star Trek" roles.

"I'll be walking down the street and I'll have people go, 'Hey Thandie Newton!'" Saldana says. "It's like, 'Oh my god, your show on TV is amazing, Ms. [Kerry] Washington.' It humbles you."

'The Talk's' Aisha Tyler: Kanye West is 'the straight, black Liberace'

4 December 2013 7:50 PM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

"Talk" co-host and comedian/actress Aisha Tyler stopped by "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on Wednesday (Dec. 4), where Ferguson brings up the Kardashian family, because "The Talk" talks about them sometimes when rehashing the day's latest news.

Aisha says that she doesn't really follow the Kardashians, but she does have something interesting to say about Kim Kardashian's fiance Kanye West:

"I am friendly with Kanye, I was on the board of [his charity foundation] that focuses on bringing music into schools and helping kids learn," says Tyler, agreeing with Ferguson that he's a very talented man. "But he's abandoned all that in favor of being the straight, black Liberace. And I don't understand what's happening. ... I respect him as an artist and I like his ambition, but I just feel like he should get a smart phone and say everything that he's going to say publicly into the phone and then listen back. »

Betty White is a nutcracker on 'Craig Ferguson': 'I've been stuck in that thing for days'

3 December 2013 7:48 AM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

That Betty White, what a jokester.

On Monday night (Dec. 2), the "Hot in Cleveland" and "Off Their Rockers" star showed up for "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" dressed as a nutcracker. She jokes, "I've been stuck in that thing for days. I had a hell of a time driving over here. I crashed my Buick right in front of the studio."

She also cracks that she ran over Evangeline Lilly in the parking lot, who was Ferguson's first guest for the evening. Ferguson deadpans, "We better go check on that."

White also says that she's interested in stealing Katy Perry's identity -- "I'm 91 years old, Craig. ... I thought it might be nice to shave a couple years off. It was either that or get bad plastic surgery, like you did."

Could not love Betty White more. If anybody is a national treasure, it is that woman. The »

BBC America Renews “Atlantis” and Adult Swim Debuts a New Show from the Creator of “Community”

News

BBC America has picked up the second season of Atlantis after its big debut following the Doctor Who anniversary special.

In an interesting development, ABC Family has ordered a full season of its upcoming drama Chasing Life, according to Deadline. Since it has yet to debut, that suggests the network has really liked episodes made so far.

For a while, The Food Network did well by dropping most of the cooking shows in favor for lifestyle programming and reality shows. However, now it’s losing viewers and Vulture theorizes that it might be the lack of cooking shows that’s causing it. And it’s not that viewers would be lured back to wanting to watch Good Eats on a channel full of Cutthroat Kitchens. The problem is, the channel no longer has a way to nurture promising talent.

"I've been planning my wedding for about 27 years, so I've got it planned out in my head," the Big Bang Theory star joked. Asked if she's become a bridezilla, Cuoco laughed replied, "No, I don't think so. I just want everything the way I want it. That's the way it should be!" Kaley Cuoco freely admits she prefers animals to people, and The Big Bang Theory actress, 27, visited The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson to talk about her wedding plans that mostly involve her furry friends.  Cuoco got engaged to fiancé Ryan Sweeting after only three months of dating, but she told the late night host that she's been planning her nuptials for 27 years now. Kaley Cuoco's wedding plans include dog-shaped cake, horses

14 November 2013 12:02 AM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Now that Kaley Cuoco is engaged, the wedding planning has begun. She's set to marry tennis player Ryan Sweeting after the couple got engaged in September. The actress stopped by "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" to talk about "The Big Bang Theory," but really all that was discussed were the nuptials.

"I've been planning my wedding for about 27 years," she says, "so I've got it planned out in my head." When Ferguson asked if she'd be a bridezilla though, Cuoco dismissed the possibility, adding, "I just want everything the way I want it."

As for what the ceremony will be like, Kaley says she would like to ride one of her horses down the aisle. While that seems easy enough, her cake ideas are a big strange. "I'm obsessed with my dogs and I wanted to do the cake in the shape of their heads," she reveals.

'Minecraft' creator Notch visits 'Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson' for first talk show appearance

8 November 2013 11:42 AM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

"The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" marked a momentous occasion during it's Nov. 7 episode that only video game fans might have noticed. Swedish game programmer and designer Markus Persson, known simply as "Notch," stopped by Craig Ferguson's show for his very first talk show appearance.

Notch is known best for creating "Minecraft," a video game that garnered millions of players worldwide while it was still in alpha version, and has sold more than 33 million copies after its various console release dates in 2011 and 2012. The sandbox indie game can basically be whatever a player wants it to be, as it has both a monster fighting mode or can be turned into a glorified version of LEGOs.

Though famous in the video game community, Notch is not a generally well known figure. That's why his appearance on "Late Late Show" is so funny, as the two men talk about the »

It’s just missing a dvd of Dirty Dancing and a case of tissues.

Fox has ordered Fatrick for next season, a comedy by Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 creator Nahnatchka Kahn. The series follows a man who was fat as a child and is now looking back at how trying to survive being a chubby kid affected him in adulthood. After the genius of Apartment 23, I think I’d be willing to sample a show called “Kardashians Reading Phonebooks” if Kahn wrote it.
