Trivia

Russell T. Davies was sounded out to produce a revival of the series by the BBC One Controller of the time, Peter Salmon, in 1999. Although nothing came of this due to BBC Worldwide's desire to make a film version of the show, by late 2003 the new Controller of BBC One, Lorraine Heggessey, had persuaded Worldwide to surrender their film ambitions so that she could commission a new television version. Ghosts from the past; Aliens from the future; the day the Earth died in a ball of flame; It won't be quiet, it won't be safe, and it won't be calm. Crazy Credits

On the 2012 episodes, the title logo is decorated with a motif related to each episode's theme. On episode one, "Asylum of the Daleks", it was decorated with dots like the ones covering a Dalek body. On episode 2, "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" it was decorated in green-like vegetation. On episode 3, "A Town Called Mercy" it was made of wooden boards, like the buildings of the Far West town on the episode. And on episode 4, "The Power of Three", it was decorated with a pattern made of cubes. See more »

Excellent
26 March 2005 | by (UK) – See all my reviews

I just cant understand why people are saying 'Rose' was just OK. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think that the new series excels itself compared to previous series e.g 6th doctor stories. I commend Russel T Davies for doing a fantastic job of propelling doctor who into the 21st century.

I pity the old doctor who fans who say 'oh its just not the same'and Eccleston is 'too different to be the doctor'. They are right! its not the same! Neither are we! We are living in a different century to the old episodes and many things have changed. Set in modern day I think the episode was more realistic and 10 times more enjoyable. So boo to the criticisms

Everyone I have spoken to had a whale of a time even many children cant wait for next week.Lets hope the rest of the series fails to disappoint us!

Congratulations BBC!!
