The Doctor, a Time Lord/Lady from the race whose home planet is Gallifrey, travels through time and space in his/her ship the TARDIS (an acronym for Time and Relative Dimension In Space) with numerous companions. From time to time he/she regenerates into a new form (which is how the series has been running since the departure of the original actor, William Hartnell, in 1966).

Matt Smith (The Eleventh Doctor) starred in Terminator Genisys (2015). Incidentally, Summer Glau had played River Tam in Firefly (2002) and Serenity (2005). Crazy Credits

On the 2012 episodes, the title logo is decorated with a motif related to each episode's theme. On episode one, "Asylum of the Daleks", it was decorated with dots like the ones covering a Dalek body. On episode 2, "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" it was decorated in green-like vegetation. On episode 3, "A Town Called Mercy" it was made of wooden boards, like the buildings of the Far West town on the episode. And on episode 4, "The Power of Three", it was decorated with a pattern made of cubes. See more »

Love the New Dr. Who!
5 May 2006 | by See all my reviews

I remember being so excited on Saturday nights when I was a kid, waiting for Dr. Who. I thought it was the best show ever made. Then, I grew up, Dr. Who went off the air, and no one I knew had ever heard of it. Then I found out there was going to be a new series. I was a little nervous about it. Was it going to live up to the expectations I had carried around since I was little? Would they screw it up? Would the Dr. suck? Would his assistant suck? Would they create a more intimate relationship with the Dr. and his assistant? YES, NO, NO, NO, NO!!! This show is wonderful!! I love the new Dr. I love his assistant. I love the show. And I find myself excited on Friday nights now, waiting for the "new" episode. I'm just now seeing 2005 episodes, as I live in the States, so I'm a little behind the rest of you. I hope the next Dr. is as great as this one!
