Right, right, turn off the lights,
We're gonna lose our minds tonight,
What's the dealie, yo?
Are you ready? It's New Year's Eve and director Garry Marshall has brought on screenwriting hack Katherine Fugate to pump out another ensemble rom-com centered on a day when "things happen". It's a night for first kisses, the finding of long lost loves, an appreciation for life, quitting jobs, having babies and dealing with death and cancer. Sure, that last bit is a bit of a downer, but don't be a party pooper... It's New Year's Eve, everyone is here, and Toshiba is sponsoring!
Call me up if you want gangsta
Don't be fancy, just get dancey
Why so serious?
Oh P!nk, I hear ya, I just wanna dance, but first we have the plot to talk about and this could take some time... Ready? Let's do it!

Okay, so there aren’t exactly robot slaves and flying cars these days, but 2011 is a lot more ‘futuristic’ than some of us give credit.
I mean, imagine if, back in the Eighties, someone told you you’d be jumping into digitally-rendered worlds in less than three decades time? That you could create you perfect little ‘avatar’, at the click of a few buttons (and the frustrating wait of continual patch downloads) occupy an entirely new alias in a fantasy world… humbling stuff, when you get to thinking about it. Not exactly what Blade Runner foresaw, that’s for sure (unless the replicants are indeed living among us).
Online role-play is big business indeed. Blizzard’s World of Warcraft and Linden Lab’s Second Life are all the evidence you need of that. We’ve all the heard the news stories of addicted players who let themselves expire in their »

Plus, Robert Kirkman talks about the eventual return of Merle Dixon, and you can catch a sneak peek of next week's episode.
Robert Kirkman spoke with MTV News about the budding romance between Glenn and Maggie and what it means for the show: "It brings a sense of hope into the show, that these two people can find each other and find love. It's fun to have a bit of romance in there and think that, despite everything that's going on in this world, two people can find some form of happiness… until a zombie attacks, and zombies do attack from time to time."

Where is Sophia? That's one of the many questions on the tips of everybody's tongues as "The Walking Dead" continues trucking through its powerful second season. That topic gets explored further in this week's episode, "Cherokee Rose," debuting on Sunday night (November 6).
Want to find out what happens this week? We've seen the episode early, and past the jump, we're giving you a taste of what's to come. As always, minor spoilers lie ahead.
» After last week's focus on the downward spiral of Shane Walsh (played by Jon Bernthal), the unhinged lawman takes a bit of a back seat in "Cherokee Rose," surrendering the Badass of the Week mantle to none other than Daryl Dixon. Actor Norman Reedus gets a lot of screen time this week as Daryl sets out on a personal mission, one that yields unexpected results for grieving mother Carol (Melissa McBride).

Love is in the air, everywhere we look around, especially as we look towards tonight's MTV First featuring main "Breaking Dawn" players Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. We've been counting down your top five favorite "Twilight" moments all week long, and this morning, we're happy to bring you a warm and fuzzy scene that you ranked as your second favorite…
…Edward's proposal to Bella!
Perhaps accepting someone's marriage proposal at the age of 18 is a bit controversial, especially when your suitor is a sparkly-skinned vampire like Edward. Then again… it's Edward. You know, the beautiful vamp with the wavy hair and the dreamy eyes. You don't exactly say no to that, do you?
"Well, to decide you're gonna marry someone at 18 is a pretty hefty decision. And I didn't want to look stupid," Stewart told MTV News of the iconic moment from "Eclipse," the third "Twilight" movie. "I »

Former Dirty Sexy Money star Bellamy Young will guest in an upcoming episode of Criminal Minds as Beth, a museum curator who meets Hotch (Thomas Gibson) in the park while he’s training for triathalon.
The episode also guest stars Charles S. Dutton, playing a boxing trainer at a Philadelphia gym.
Before the start of the season, showrunner Erica Messer teased a new romance for one of the agents, but declined to give details. She had also hinted, however, that she wanted this season to see a new beginning for Hotch, »

New Jersey’s Big Troubles has toured with The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and Real Estate, and it shares those groups’ penchant for shy, down-turned melodies that somehow manage to sound sad and cheery simultaneously. On Big Troubles’ second album, Romantic Comedy, singer-songwriters and principal members Alex Craig and Ian Drennan move beyond the sound of contemporary guitar-pop and aim directly for the genre’s forebears. “Love is in the air, and I don’t care,” Craig purrs on the catchy single “Sad Girls,” affecting the breathy, lovelorn miserablism of the Zombies’ Colin Blunstone and Joe Pernice over »
Love is in the air, Community fans. In case this is your first time on the Internet, we'll let you in on a little secret: Community's online fanbase is big, vocal and awesome. Also, they really, really love the couples on their show. We just visited Greendale Community College, where we chatted with the stars about upcoming romances, the show being "more grounded" and the biggest obstacle in Jeff (Joel McHale) and Annie's (Alison Brie) way... "This is sort of the greatest love story ever told," says Danny Pudi of his character Abed's bromance with Troy (Donald Glover). Sorry, Jeff and Annie fans, we're going with Danny on this one. Speaking of Jeff and »

Well, "Teen Wolf" fans, that's a wrap on Season 1. The season finale aired Monday night, and we said goodbye to two characters: the devious Alpha werewolf (Ian Bohen) and Allison's crazy aunt Kate (Jill Wagner).
Eliminating two villains certainly brought the first chapter of the MTV series to a satisfying close, but the finale wasn't without some major cliffhangers -- most notably that Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) is the new Alpha, and Jackson (Colton Haynes) currently on the wrong end of those alpha fangs.
The "Teen Wolf" cast is tentatively due back in Atlanta on November 15 to get back to work shooting Season 2... and Zap2it has all the dish on what you can expect when the series returns to your screens in 2012.
Despite being incredibly sick and in the hospital last week, Selena is feeling better and hopping on a plane to see her man — don’t you love it?!
Love is in the air for Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez! The 18-year-old Disney star has got some pretty serious Bieber fever and we don’t blame her. Selena took to her Twitter on June 15 to tell her fans that she was jetting off from her hometown of Dallas, Texas and headed to the dirty south to see Justin!“Bye Dallas, I will miss you all dearly,” Selena tweeted. “I am off to Atlanta, see you guys soon!”
We think it’s great that Selena is going to see Justin but is she pushing herself a bit too hard? She was just in the hospital citing malnourishment and exhaustion and this weekend she is expected to host the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto. »
