In this Jean Durand film, Onésime (Ernest Bourbon) is once again cast as the comedic hero. I say once again because the team made a ton of them--some very good and some pretty poor. This one is just okay--nothing more.
Onésime is in love with a diva at the opera (Berthe Dagmar--the director's wife). However, she has him thrown out when he tries to visit her. So, he comes up with a stupid plan--have a group of criminals kidnap the tenor and replace him with himself! The problem is that Onésime sings horribly and the plan seems to be a total failure...or is it?
The film isn't all that funny. That's a problem considering it's supposed to be a comedy. However, it is reasonably pleasant viewing if you adore early silents. Otherwise, you may want to skip this one.
