Errors in geography

(at around 32 mins) The characters visit the Indian village of Supai, Arizona, and two of the associated waterfalls, Havasu and Mooney. In the film it appears that they park their car and walk to these locations in regular street clothes and very quickly. In actuality the village of Supai is 8 miles (through the desert) from the parking lot. Havasu falls is another 2 miles beyond that and Mooney falls is 2 more miles plus a nearly straight vertical climb of 150-200 feet to the bottom. Accomplishing this trip, at the very least, would require carrying a water supply and wearing appropriate boots and clothing.

Character error

(at around 39 mins) Cris (Nicolas Cage) tells a joke about a "Zen master" ordering a hot dog. Cage says, "he said he'd have 'one with everything.'" The punch line should be "make me one with everything." Cage's wording misses the point, and the expression on Liz (Jessica Biel)'s face suggests she misses the point too.
Cris claims he hasn't been using his power to set up the relationship, though that's clearly how he made first contact at the diner.

During the scene when Chris and the agents are walking along the catwalk, just prior to Chris's precognition of getting shot by a sniper from behind them: As Chris and the FBI agents are about to turn 90 degrees left on the catwalk, there is a cylindrical duct of some kind behind them with a white tarp covering the end. As they walk past it, the tarp gets sucked down and pulled out of sight - possibly a film crew action, or just part of what the machinery is being portrayed to do. However, after his precognition of getting shot, the scene rewinds to their approach on the catwalk, but this time, the white tarp at the end of the tubing does not get sucked in, it remains covering the end of the duct.

Factual errors

(at around 1h 4 mins) When Cris is watching television to determine the time and place of the explosion, a news anchor describes a hurricane in the Atlantic as an "F-3" storm. The Fujita Scale is used to rate the intensity of tornadoes. Hurricanes are classified using the Saffir-Simpson scale. A hurricane of that strength would properly be called a Category 3 storm.

In most of the world, potassium iodide (used to combat radiation poisoning) is sold in blister packs, not prescription bottles. This is because it is meant for long-term storage and because the pills are fragile and would be easily crushed if stored in a pill bottle. The terrorists would have had such blister packs and not bottles.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

(at around 32 mins) As Chris and Liz arrive at the Indian village, Liz announces it is the "Havasupai Reservation". The movie makes no further effort to specifically define where or what the location is. Since the Havasupai Reservation consists of 189,000 acres (approximately 295 sq miles) and has several waterfalls throughout, the audience is led to believe that it is a nondescript, perhaps even fictitious location. Since the movie makes no specific identification of this location, other than the Havasupai Reservation, any claims made regarding errors in geography (the village of Supai, the trail head to Havasupai and/or Havasu Falls among others) are unfounded.

Plot holes

The FBI is able to quickly shutdown all cell signals once they determine where Liz will be left with the explosive vest so the sniper can not call in the kill. They then determine that the vest is wired to receive a cell signal to detonate. Can't they simply disable the cell signal again to not allow her vest to receive the detonation signal?

They were able to determine the killer in the motel room across the street was part of the terrorist group because they found a bottle of pills for radiation poisoning. This was after the FBI agent stated that the room had been professionally wiped down of fingerprints and other evidence. The terrorists immaculately wiped down the room but left a dead body and a prescription pill case?

Factual errors

The "wind" that blows off hats and causes clothing to flap when they are on the deck of the ship in the harbor during the foretold atomic blast would actually have been an overpressure wave generated by the bomb's detonation. The characters shown on the ship would have thrown backwards dozens of feet or simply splattered well before the ship overturned.
