Trivia

In Japan, the title is spelled Chrno Crusade. Popular belief holds that it was to avoid copyright confusing with the Chrono Trigger games, produced by Square Company, however it was revealed through the original manga author as well as the crew at US distributor ADV Films, that Chrno was a production mistake. However the US title is the only title that spells it "Chrono". See more »

Goofs

In episode four, during the close-up of the newspaper regarding Recardo, the small text itself has nothing to do with the topic of the paper. It is current news, not of the 1920s. See more »

Quotes

Chrono: [watching the rain fall] Depressing, isn't it?
Sister Rosette Christopher: No. Considering we were up all night on a mission, and they ask us to do the shopping on our way home. I'd say it's more than depressing, it's the absolute worst.
Azmaria Hendrick: [being tossed around in the back seat] I'm sorry, I said I could do it by myself.
Sister Rosette Christopher: What are you talking about? It was obvious to all of us that you couldn't do it alone!
Azmaria Hendrick: [the phone rings] Oh, the Phone! Whoah!
[falls down]
Chrono: Oh, are you all right, Azmaria?
Azmaria Hendrick: Yeah, I'm jake
Sister Rosette Christopher: You just stay put. ...

God's rules of engagement. Marriage follows.
26 June 2006 | by (Romania) – See all my reviews

The series evolved beautifully and I was hooked to the end. The premise, though, is a bit silly. Demons try to "take over the world, Pinky", and to do so they must follow complicated rules and rituals, like hackers trying to get into a legitimate system. People of faith (mostly young sexy girls) fight with holly water and blessed machine guns against evil. The demons keep telling us that God should intervene if he is not an "absentee landlord" and by the end of the series you really begin asking why he doesn't.

The link between the main female character and Chrno, the good demon (yeah, you heard that right), is reminiscent of Inuyasha, but not so completely goofy. The main villain, in his twisted plots, seems to touch a little on Berserker. The other characters are actually filling a gap, they have no major role and are quite happy not to. Even Azmaria is just a crying child that I secretly wanted dead from the middle of the series. She has this magic ability to revive people, but doesn't really use it.

In the end, even if the last episode concludes the story and is very sad, one kinda gets bored with all the mystical mambo jumbo. If you are a god, then probably a detailed and complicated story is for you (God is in the details, they say), but for us humans, getting the point is kind of important.
