THE LOST, written, directed, and edited by Glen Chua is an amazing work of art. I was lucky enough to see the film when it was screened at the Calgary International Film Festival, and the emotion and romance that was put into it left me in awe.
The movie starts off with Deacon Enders (also very well acted by Glen Chua) in his room not able to sleep. I cannot reveal too much as it will spoil the story, but Deacon narrates his story to the audience throughout the night. The visuals captured by the young cinematographer, Andrew Atkinson, the shots directed by Glen Chua, and the hauntingly beautiful score by Michael Law shows that these youngsters have talent. The story is original and not jump out of your seat scary, but leaves you thinking. Watch out for the water scenes, as those were wonderfully crafted.
Kudos to Glen and his team, and from what I can see, they will be noticed soon.
