Trivia:
When the producers prepared to pitch the series concept to the network, they prepared an elaborate presentation about the story possibilities, anticipating that the executives would wary of agreeing to such a cerebral premise. However, the network executives were immediately enthusiastic part way through the pitch that the series had good potential and insisted on production beginning immediately. moreQuotes:
Alan Eppes: Aren't you going to introduce me to your girlfriend?Charlie Eppes: You've met her before, she's not my girlfriend, I'm her thesis advisor.
Alan Eppes: Does that mean she can't be your girlfriend?
Charlie Eppes: It's, uh, it's against the rules.
Alan Eppes: Well, screw the rules. What's more important, learning or love? Well, I'm sure there's no rule against the father of her thesis advisor asking her out.
Charlie Eppes: Go for it, go right ahead, be my guest.
Amita Ramanujan: Thank you. Actually, I'm spoken for, Mr. Eppes.
Alan Eppes: Oh, really?
Amita Ramanujan: Back in Madras, my parents arranged for marriage to a family friend, a nice Hindu banker from Goa.
Charlie Eppes: Really? Getting married?

All I can say this that three of Hollywood's most under-appreciated actors are in this show. Rob Morrow in a role meant for him has been sadly missing since his Northern Exposure days. Judd Hirsch will always be remembered for Taxi, but I also loved Dear John and love seeing him play the Dad to Jeff Goldblum's character in Independence Day. David Krumholtz is, I believe, the most under-appreciated of actors out there. He has depth and comic vision and compassion that's been sadly lacking in the most recent spate of "new talent." His "I am right" attitude in this show is not presented in an "in your face" way, but in a way that you know that Charlie is completely perplexed when the math doesn't compute. I hope CBS and the viewers will give Numbers a chance to excel. P.S. BRAVO to the HOTTIE that David Krumholtz has evolved into over the last couple of years. I look forward to his evolution onto one of his generations' great actors.
