Dorothy and Earl, a young married couple, turn their bungalow into a regular military barracks, fireworks and all, to make her visiting uncle feel at home when he returns from the war. The major finally tells them that he never saw a trench, but had been in the commissary department only, and in England. But not until after they had almost made his life a wreck between them.
