  • Continuity: When Elizabeth comes out onto the porch of Nick's house, the fish-hook wind chimes alternate between swinging and dead-still between shots.

  • Continuity: When the old beach-comber finds the dining room table set up on the beach, the table and chairs are alternately well above the water line and several inches deep in still water between shots.

  • Continuity: When the Seagrass is being searched after the murders, there are no broken windows even though they were broken the night before.

  • Continuity: When Stevie goes into the lighthouse to work, the bulletin board in the background shows drawings and pictures from her son. The next shot they have changed around and then when they catch fire they change again.

  • Continuity: The medics cover two bodies with a blanket, when they already zipped up two bodies. Only three people died.

  • Plot holes: The movie takes place on the centennial anniversary of the "founding" of Antonio Bay and is about the dead taking revenge for an act committed 100 years ago. This would mean the movie takes place in 1971 (in the diner, Elizabeth notes on the photographs that "something happened" in 1871 and the town sprung up from a few shacks to a thriving community). However, the movie clearly takes place in modern times - even though a year is never given, the music Stevie and Spooner play, the digital camera, the dress styles, the cars, etc all indicate that the time is contemporary. In addition, Antonio Bay would be much older than 100 years anyway, because of all of the photos that Elizabeth looks at that predate 1871.

  • Miscellaneous: When the bodies are reeled in from the "seagrass", the bottom body can be seen blinking for a second

  • Continuity: When Nick picks up Elizabeth hitchhiking on the side of the road, he spies her in his rear view mirror. A minute later when they're kissing inside the truck, the mirror is gone.

  • Continuity: While partying on the boat, Spooner walks past the girls on the left side, but is on the right side in the next shot.

  • Continuity: When the founding fathers put their hands together in a flashback, three of them are standing side by side (or at a 45 degree angle to each other at most). When the fourth goes to put his hand in, it switches to an underneath shot where everyone is at a 90 degree angle to each other.

  • Continuity: Stevie's car rolls down the hill clockwise, but the shot inside the car shows it rolling counter-clockwise. Then, at one point it's about to roll right-side up, but in the next shot it's about to roll onto the roof. Furthermore, seconds later it falls off the cliff front first in a close shot, but rear first in the next far shot.

  • Continuity: After the truck crashes into the boat, Elizabeth gets knocked unconscious inside the truck (along with everyone else). After her dream/flashback, she wakes up several feet outside the truck.

  • Continuity: The windows in Nick's truck are all blown out by the fog when he and Elizabeth are driving through town that night. After they pick up Andy, they hit a figure in the fog and get splatters all over the windshield.

  • Factual errors: In the scene where Elizabeth visits the priest, the "writing on the wall" is misspelled. The last word should be spelled UPHARSIN.

  • Continuity: When Andy is running from the fog, the sky is light blue. When he runs inside the house and a shot shows the fog climbing up the door, the sky is black. A shot or two later, the sky is dark blue.

  • Errors in geography: There is no island off the Oregon coast.

  • Revealing mistakes: In some of the overhead pans of the "island" train tracks are visible - hardly necessary on an island.

  • Continuity: Stevie's car tumbles completely sideways with no momentum in the direction of the truck she is hit by even though it is a head-on collision.
