With a winter storm in town this was the day to peek again at Step Into Liquid (2003) and give this one a first look. Bingo on Thicker! I know I'm a little off the mainstream, when I go to the shore I can sit and watch surfers trying 3 foot waves for hours. Heck, when my big softboard's around and I get a good tailwind and a full moon, I may even get up myself for a brief ride. We went to Hawaii 3 years ago with our 6 month old just to see the big waves and he and I spent every morning at Pipeline watching people get dumped. This is my kind of movie. They stow all the chatter and get right to the great surfing shots (even if there is a preference for short-boarders). Backed by an unusual and exotic music score, it's like an extended dream. I could just keep watching this sucker, in fact, it just wrapped up and I'm back in for seconds. Kudos to Jack Johnson and the rest of the crew for a real winner, gimme some more guys! 10 out of 10
