Important to have more details on I Confess
macedo14 October 2007
I CONFESS deserves more attention and details,in the internet pages, considering its plot, the influence of Catholicism and production difficulties. Critics have, already, wrote about the many problems faced by Alfred Hitchcock. The film was badly received when launched,(1953)with very few exceptions.Today is considered an excellent movie, for its many cinematic qualities. The New York Museum of Modern Art paid an homage to AH, organizing a good exposition about his life and work. But it was in Canada that we could see an extraordinary exhibition,at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts:HITCHCOCK AND ART-FATAL COINCIDENCES. (November 2000 to March 2001)A 500 page book was published with essays by specialists and illustrated with reproductions of art works and photos related to Hitchcock"s films.By all means a must for those who admire and respect the master of suspense. And,as a Brazilian movie critic wrote:

he "was an ironic philosopher of the human condition, sensitive to what has the tragic in this adventure".Luiz Antonio Macedo
