Storyline

Otis is a live-in lift operator who has never set foot outside his elevator. He is secretly in love with K, a junior typist who is afraid of elevators and has never set foot in one. Each morning, as K climbs the 20 flights of stairs to her typing pool, Otis does his best to parallel her ascent. He subtly influences the demands of his many passengers to catch glimpses of his beloved. K's only pleasure is typing her dreams on her lunch breaks. Everyday they each go about their routines with quiet dedication. But this routine is about to change. Written by Anonymous

Lovely!
25 April 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This was one of two favorites I saw at the Trenton Film Festival last year. And, man is it hard to slog through so many insipid or flat films to come across some gems. Of course, there all all sorts of tastes.

This one does what many films with dialog find hard to do, convey character, yearning and wonder. The cinematography is top notch and it stars my favorite actor from Delicatessan! He is always a joy to watch. The other actors are well cast and the eyeball scene is hysterical!

All in all, a well-crafted film with lots of imagination and great set pieces with a foreign film feel. An excellent accomplishment for a small budget short.
