Good Event w/ Good Fighters in their early days
gracie197918 September 2009
This was a good event. It had a lot of good fighters in it before they got popular...Melvin Guillard, Jeff Joslin, Andy Foster (now the athletic commissioner for Ga.), Rory Singer, Marcus Hicks, and Jeff Bedard. If you like mma, this is definitely a must see of local Georgia talent! This was the event that had the rivalry between Alliance Jiu-jitsu and Velocity Kickboxing, now Knuckle Up. The dispute was basically because the Velocity Kickboxing teachers were originally from Alliance which caused a "challenge" between the two schools. Of course most schools in Atl. have spawned from Jacare at Alliance one way or another. One of the better fights was Damien Stelly (Alliance) vs Dustin Lowery (Velocity). Alliance also flew in Jeff Joslin to fight Shaun Gay and Marcus "Wreckingball" Hicks of the WEC to fight Toni Tucci. The Melvin Guillard fight was really good as I recall, as most of his fights are exciting.
