Exceeds expectation

Great! Great! Great! So well done, visually entertaining, she's funny, and how can you not love that musical duel between the two ladies! You gotta get this! You will be pleased.

You will see things you never though she could do.

You will be impressed about her vocals.

You will be happy to see Cyndi Lauper in top form!

I love the changes to the songs that she made. Get this, I promise it's great!

Too many people don't realize how talented she is, this IS the DVD to buy to show them what they're missing.

Awesome Concert DVD

Cyndi is one of the best live performers ever and this DVD proves it!

The quality of this DVD captures her grace and vocal talents beautifully. This little lady can really SING! She has a great band of musicians backing her up as well. Even if you're just a casual fan of her 80's classics, pick up this concert. You will be amazed, moved and delighted. She covers most of her 80's hits and throws in some of her latest covers from her critically acclaimed CD "At Last". Her between songs banter is adorable as she connects with her audience. Most importantly, her voice is flawless and she makes it seem effortless. Finally, she looks great for 50 and has the energy of a woman half her age!

Wonderful artist.

This Concert DVD introduced me to Cyndi Lauper. A wonderful singer. There were a few songs where she crosses the line and becomes incomparable. She not only has a fine voice and technique, but a heart and mind to go with it. It's also a joy to see the way she dances and the expressions of her face. She has the grace that comes from complete concentration and unselfconsciousness. It was moving to see the affection for her shown by the members of the band and the audience. There's a song which is a sort of prayer to God that she may not be misunderstood. I felt that Cyndi was making a very personal statement here. My response is that whatever quirks Cyndi may have the goodness of her heart is unmistakable.

one word, BRILLIANT!!!!!!

This concert can be summed up in one word, BRILLIANT!!!!!! This is easily one of the best live DVDs ever. If you thought Cyndi Lauper was just a pop singer this DVD will articulate how accomplished a singer, musician, writer and performer Lauper actual is (check out the live version of "time after time", it will send chills up your spine & tears down your cheeks). Madonna has nothing on Cyndi Lauper, Lauper far exceeds Madonna in talent. Lauper's performance is up there with Springsteen, U2, The Stones, just to name a few.

Great performance by a very polished band. The female guitar player and the female volinist compliment Lauper excellently during the performance.

Mixed bag

I grew up listening to Cyndi. I still have several of her albums. Everyone must evolve and, in many ways, Cyndi has for the better. There is a major problem with this album, however. A few songs that are classics and sung straight forward are executed very well by Cyndi. However, others are experimental in nature and distort the original feel with extra warbling and la-di-dah. Of the ones that were not distorted and are classic, you find yourself saying "now who sings that?" instead of listening to Cyndi. "Walk on by" has someone making raspy sounds on the drum loud enough to make you stop and check for a flat tire.

She will challenge and maybe best the original with "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood." I am proud of the fact she can sing in English regardless if it has a French title. And there is a pamphlet with the explanation of her strange mix of songs in this album.
