Storyline

Doing IT, or not doing IT, that is the question for leading man Tommy. His long time girlfriend Maria is ready to take the leap from fumbling touches and making out to the real thing. Tommy on the other hand works part time as an altar boy and has clergy in his genes, has an old-fashioned idea of sex and believes that it belongs within the sanctitude of marriage. Tommy's Inferno is therefore something as unlikely as a story about a boy who is "not ready for IT". When your late father was a priest you never knew and your mother is the personification of adult immaturity and loose morals, you don't have an easy relationship with sex. Tommy is torn between a wish to do what is right based on his mothers mistakes and a sexually frustrated girlfriend desperately trying to get into his pants. Tommy's mother finds love around every corner, the result of this is Tommys charming half-sister Isobel, who likes wearing superhero costumes. Interesting and amusing movie, directed in a good way (the previous review is rubbish)

I will unfortunately have to start out my review with informing readers out there to totally ignore the previous review. Of course, everybody has the right to have their own opinion, but when somebody writes a review like that - which is both irrelevant and (I quote): "Stupid, stupid, stupid!", I hope readers understand that it is not very serious. If it is indeed true what the previous review said - that "[e-mail]" indeed knew one of the actors in this movie, then it is hard to deny that the quite aggressive and unfair review might have been written because of jealousy.

With that said, I would like to present my view on the movie. The whole point with this movie is to look at the life of people who are a bit different, people who are not like "all others". Tommy and the others are not meant to represent the "common youth at his age" - at least not in our country. It is not very common for a _guy_ to wait with his sexual debut until after he is married in these days.

In general it is a movie that touches on subjects that you just don't go around thinking about every day, and it does so in at good way, I think.

I have to agree on one thing though: Ali (the foreign guy) does make the movie more fun to watch, but he also plays a part in the story. He is amongst other things responsible for an unexpected twist in the movie.

I recommend this movie! Maybe it's not 10/10, but I will give it a 10 to equal the score from the "1" ebbe13 gave. (Be serious next time, will you? Thank you.)
