With All Due Respect
18 August 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I had the ill pleasure of seeing "Billy's Choice" at the New York Independent Film & Video Fesitval in April 2004. I am still trying to figure out how this film made it in. The writing was sub-par and the direction was lackluster at best. The only bright spots were the performances of the three leading ladies - who are more experienced and it shows. They overshadow Pardo (as Billy) who seems lost in this film.

I have no idea what Chertok & Pardo were trying to write as it truly made no point. I do know this film made me laugh and not because of the dialogue. It truly looked like a high school group of friends decided to play with the electronics mommy bought them and make a film. I suggest these two men not write or work with one another again. Maybe they will have better luck next time.

I in the meantime will warn people that this short is painful to sit through. I do respect the small effort put into this film, but Billy's Choice just didn't have it.
