Amazing Mini-Series, First intro to the slightly boiled detective
jeeves545418 February 2007
I loved this miniseries. Watched it as a child, and found the plot and pacing good, the jokes laugh out loud for a 12 year old, and the villains are megalomaniacal enough to justify more adaptations of the books. The movie/mini-series appears to have been adapted from the Anthony Horowitz novel "Diamond Brother: South by South-East" and thus parodies much of the material from North by North west, if not the storyline, which appears to be better than some Naked Gun or Spy hard movie types. In essence more thinking less stoner. But yes there is a cornfield, and airplane, and all in all was enough to cotton me onto Hitchcock's works and books. If you can find it, watch it, you wont regret it.

I have been searching for this series on VHS or DVD for quite a while, as a symbol of childhood, so if anyone does find it please pm me, or add it to a forum on the page PLEASE!! Thanks
