"The Golden Sphere" is a low-budget comedy short, that takes well-worn story ideas and gives them a quirky overhaul. Director Kevin Powis shows some technical skill behind the camera, especially since he was an amateur at the time. The photography is better than a lot of other no-budget flicks, and promises much for the crew. The story of the film is slight, but it manages to entertain, thanks to the charm of its cast and the juvenile script by D.J. Nock, which refuses to take itself seriously. Special mention should go to Alec Sedgeley, whose turn as the drippy "Moose" is a comedic highlight. A light and breezy little flick, that should raise a smile from the viewer, if nothing else...
