A stylish and humorous documentary telling Terry and Liz's fascinating story while engaging you in their relationship
mwimdb17 October 2004
An engaging documentary about how an inspirational shoe designer and his partner set out on a new beginning as they try to get a fair reward from the fashion house which has exploited his designs without paying him. Drawing strength from each other, they challenge the fashion industry which Terry has continued to work in since the days he was famous decades ago. The film works as big business v. vulnerable artist but more importantly it works on a human level giving us an insight into Terry and Liz's relationship. Both are charismatic but in different ways and, as the film progresses, we see the extent they draw strength from each.

It's a film shot with style and humour. Directed with pace, it lets you into their relationship and draws you into their characters. By the end of it you are rooting for them to succeed. Great fun. If you get a chance, I strongly recommend you take a look at it.

charming human story sensitively rendered

'Terry and Liz' is an intelligent dainty morsel of a documentary, miles away from the claggy diet of Reality shows currently clogging our TV-viewing arteries.

Terry and Liz are two people just trying to get the recognition that they doubtless deserve. We warm to them immediately; we want them to do well - and this is why the film works so well: instead of the usual build up to failure we Brits seem to relish so abominably, here we get real hope for success.

The sensitive direction and beautiful editing combine to make a powerful yet truly touching story come to life.

A real treat.
