Gamburg grabs top Angelus nod

Student filmmaker Victoria Gamburg from San Francisco State University took the top prize at the 9th annual Angelus Awards Student Film Festival, which ended Saturday night with its awards ceremony at the DGA. For her film, Twilight, Gamburg took home the Patrick Peyton Excellence in Filmmaking Award, worth $10,000. Edward Hermann hosted the awards ceremony. The other winners were: Priddy Bros. Prods. Triumph Award: Joyce Draganosky, Columbia University, for Extreme Mom; Mole Richardson Production Design Award: Graham Tallman and Fabian Frohne, American Film Institute, for Codename: Simon; FujiFilm Audience Impact Award: Giuseppe Zito, Loyola Marymount University, for Melanzane E Cioccolato; Outstanding Documentary Award, sponsored by CACAP: Hilla H. Medalia, Southern Illinois University, Daughters of Abraham; Outstanding Animation Award: Sejong Park, Australian Film Television & Radio School, for Birthday Boy; and ActOne Screenplay Prize: Victoria Gamburg, San Francisco State University, for Twilight. »
