Simon Brew May 25, 2017

The director of the new Wimpy Kid - and the last three - on the movie, and why he doesn't like deleted scenes...

Returning for the fourth Diary Of A Wimpy Kid film – and his third as director – is British-born director David Bowers. Having started with animation – directing Flushed Away and Astro Boy, amongst his extensive credits – Bowers has since been primarily working on bringing Jeff Kinney’s characters to the screen.

Ahead of the release in UK cinemas this Friday of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, he spared us some time for a chat about the movie.

We started by my asking if he’d been to see the film himself since it was finished…

I went on Saturday to watch it. My mother in law wanted to see it. The guy in front of us, who’d grudgingly taken his seven-year old daughter, »

Guy Realizes His Friends Look Exactly Like ‘Flushed Away’ Characters

It’s inevitable the real life humans are going to look like cartoons from time to time.  In fact, many of our favorite Disney characters are modeled after cartoon creator friends or celebrities that we see in the media.  It’s natural that you’d not only base a character off of someone you know but also make a physical resemblance.  Whether it’s intentional or not is another question.   But in the grand scheme of things does intention matter?  No.  If someone looks like a cartoon then they look like a cartoon.  It’s that simple. If you’ve ever seen the 2006 Dreamworks film

20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul! Based on the record-breaking book series by Jeff Kinney, a family road trip goes hilariously off course, thanks to Greg's newest scheme to (finally!) become famous. Check out the latest trailer below and get ready for Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul to hit theaters May 19th!

This new trailer starts off the exact same way as the first trailer, which arrived in earlier February. But Wimp fans, don't be so quick to turn away. There is a ton of new footage here and plenty of fresh jokes as a squad of seagulls attack the Heffley family en route to grandma's house.

Last year, 20th Century Fox gave fans a sneak peek at the new cast members who replace all of the stars from the first three Wimpy Kid movies. Jason Drucker »

When the original Diary Of A Wimpy Kid movie first arrived in 2010, it would have been hard to conceive that it could become a four-film-spawning franchise that would still be kicking some seven years later. However, after a five-year dormancy, the series, based on the irreverent novels written and illustrated by Jeff Kinney, is set to relaunch with its fourth film entry Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul Trailer: The Heffleys Hit The Road

23 February 2017 9:38 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

20th Century Fox has debuted the first teaser trailer and poster for Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, which is set to hit theaters on May 19. This trailer pokes some fun at the superhero genre, in its own unique way, teasing that none of the caped crusaders, galactic guardians or amazing web slingers over the past decade dared to be "wimpy" like the title character Greg, portrayed by Jason Drucker. This trailer gives fans a better look at the brand new cast that has been assembled for this fourth Wimpy Kid movie.

Back in November, 20th Century Fox unveiled a preview that gave fans a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the new cast members, who replace all of the stars from the first three Wimpy Kid movies. Jason Drucker replaces Zachary Gordon as Greg, with Charlie Wright replacing Devon Bostick as his older brother Rodrick and Owen Asztalos replacing Robert Capron as Rowley. »
