After a new book alleged that Hillary Clinton‘s 2016 presidential campaign was plagued by infighting, dysfunction and “a feeling of impending doom,” a former top Clinton aide took to Twitter on Wednesday night to set the record straight.
Nick Merrill, Clinton’s former campaign press secretary, shared a series of smiling photos of the 2016 Democratic nominee and her team on the campaign trail, prefacing it: “Here is the cold, hard truth. Click at your own peril.”
To cement his point, he added sarcastic captions about each of the moments, which included a grinning Clinton holding a baby (“Where did she get that baby anyway?...

She’s out of the woods and out to dinner!
Hillary Clinton was spotted dining with Ralph Lauren at the designer’s swanky restaurant The Polo Bar on Wednesday night in New York City.
Fellow diner Jon Steinberg posted a photo to Twitter of the former presidential candidate chatting with model Christie Brinkley, 63.
“The love in the room for Hillary was palpable,” a source told People. “She had a big beautiful smile and it was impossible not to feel the love aimed at her. She was warm and friendly with everyone in the room.”

Eli Roth’s latest collaborator/muse duo Nicolas Lopez and Lorenza Izzo are, if anything, even more enthusiastic than he is. Styling himself as a maverick film-maker, Lopez is known for oddball comedies in his native Chile, and is making his English-language debut with Aftershock, based on the events of the 2010 Chilean earthquake that he personally lived through.
Meanwhile, Izzo has earned Eli Roth’s praise for her role in his upcoming Netflix TV show Hemlock Grove, and is set for bloody shenanigans in Aftershock and The Green Inferno.
The duo are bubbly, prone to good-natured joking, and have a lot to say about their love of genre movies.
Q1: Nicolas, I understand you started writing at quite a young age…
Nicolas Lopez: Yeah.
Q1: And then you created your own website. How did you go from that to then becoming a film director?
Nl: Ummmmm…..well.

Steve Mason is now on Facebook. Sunday 9:30 a.m. (Pacific): By the time Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa finishes its domestic run, DreamWorks will have accomplished something that Disney has never pulled off and that Pixar has never even attempted. Jeffrey Katzenberg will have released a pair $200 million-grossing animated films in the same year. The decidedly multiculti Escape 2 Africa has scored a spectacular $63.5 million opening weekend. With only Quantum of Solace (Sony) opening next week, M:E2A movie has the family audience to itself until Bolt (Disney) arrives on Nov. 21. It is very safe to project a domestic haul of $200 million-plus, and my hunch (and sources) say that it will likely surpass the $215.4 million generated by June's Kung Fu Panda. I am also sticking with $550 million-$600 million as the likely international take, and it seems like the top of the range is probable.
