In Miami, a man is gunned down at close range in broad daylight. Det. Freddie Ponce and his team follow a blood trail at the scene to an apartment complex, where they believe the suspect is hiding out. In Cincinnati, Dets. Doug Lindle and Matthew Thompson investigate the murder of a man shot outside his apartment.

In Cincinnati, a well-loved 58 year-old man is found shot dead in a hallway, still clutching a five-dollar bill. Detectives Matt Thompson and Doug Lindle visit the grief-stricken wife and learn the victim was murdered a day before his birthday. Thompson and Lindle rely on the help of the community to track down the suspects last seen with the victim moments before he was murdered.

In Detroit an young man with a new job is playing basketball in the neighborhood he hangs out in when he gets into a fight with some young men who hang out in a house right across the street from the court. The dead man breaks away from the fight and runs up on a porch and in tussle he's shot in the head. In another case a young man is shot outside a club in Dallas. The victim was apparently helping another man who was being robbed when he was shot. There are lots of witnesses but no one will talk. They all afraid to cooperate.

In Detroit, Officer Anthony Wright Jr. is investigating the death of a man found shot behind an abandoned house. Wright learns that there has been a second shooting just minutes after the homicide, and it has been caught on tape. In Memphis, when a woman is found dead inside a house fire, Sergeant Kevin Lundy, who spent over a year working in arson, is called to the scene.

In Texas a young man is set up for a robbery when he answers an ad for a car in a town a hundred miles from his home. He is carrying cash and the supposed buyer demands the money. Police have a witness but her description isn't going to be definitive. In Miami a man who owns a small business is shot multiple times and robbed. The early investigation finds that the man had a proclivity for dating every woman he could and keeping pictures and clothing from those contacts. Detectives start their investigation with the assumption this is a revenge killing.

Fit of Rage/Mean Streets
In Cincinnati, Detectives Jenny Luke & Bob Randolph find a young woman who has been strangled in her living room. Crime scene evidence leads detectives to believe she may have known her killer. In Miami, a 65-year-old man is found dead in a pool of blood.
