Good, human situations and skilfull acting

A worthy picture with many excellent things in it in the way of good, human situations and skillful acting. David was played with no great feat for character and this is the more noticeable, because the girl who captures him; her father, who helps, and other rural characters, who are friends and neighbors, are acted so naturally. It is a simple love story, but the author deserves credit for working it up in so clean-cut and freshly interesting way. - The Moving Picture World, December 20, 1913
