"All That You Love Will Be Carried Away" is about a traveling salesman who checks into a motel with the intention of committing suicide. This salesman, one Alfie Zimmer, has been collecting random quotations off of bathroom stalls and rest stop walls for quite a while in his spiral notebook. He realizes that the people who find his body might think him insane based on the notebook, so he finds himself debating between A)no suicide and turn the quotations into a book, or B)suicide.

On one hand, this is a short story with very little dialogue. Being one main character, a lot of the story is in his head. The film did a great job with the narration, but the two dialogue scenes (at the desk and with the other salesman next door) felt forced and awkward.

The other major complaint of mine was the lack of snow. I understand, low budget = can't control weather, but without the snow it felt like something was missing.

Overall I gave it a 5/10, because it seemed perfectly balanced between good (the montage of him finding various phrases) and bad (the scene with the desk clerk) -bert p.s. One thing I really enjoyed was the road sign pointing to "CASTLEROCK" and "GILEAD" on Interstate 19. That was a nice touch.
