Winx Club: I have found lame.
28 May 2005 | by See all my reviews

At the very beginning if its release, I was intrigued. However, after a few episodes, I saw how horrible it really is. It attempts to pass itself as an anime, but its does an extremely bad job at that. The characters are very one dimensional and therefore boring. Stella: all about fashion (the airhead); Techna: the smart one, is the only one who seems to care about anything other than clothes and boys; Bloom: seemingly the innocent and your lovable character that you can relate to right? WRONG! This entire show revolves around the stereotype of girls being airheads and nothing more. After kicking monster butts, what do they do? go get like a manicure! It's pretty cool with the legend and fighting, but you can't really relate to the characters. Not in reality (like witches, fairies, and the like which is awesome), but emotionally. This show shows no growth and maturity. It's so robotic that the characters don't seem to learn life lessons and only care about a broken nail and the date with Brandon. You don't see the "life" in the characters. Thus, the show becomes old and monotonous. P.S. this show is all about high heels and revealing outfits for pencil thin girls. This show doesn't show uniqueness and girl power which is what they are trying to get people intrigued. It shows the world the stereotype of girls with only manicures, pedicures, boys, fashions, shoes, tube tops, and cosmetics in their heads instead of diminishing the stereotype.
