This show was created when its stars did not agree with the way their current network, SBS, was treating them and its audience. The duo moved to a new network and a new show in a much publicized change.

Over the 11 years the series was on air, only seven movies were given five stars by both David Stratton and Margaret Pomeranz: Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005), Brokeback Mountain (2005), No Country for Old Men (2007), Samson and Delilah (2009), A Separation (2011), Amour (2012) and Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014).
