"Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude" is the coming of age story about Larry Lovage, nephew of Larry Laffer, the series' original lovable loser. Lovage starts as a pathetic loser enrolled at Community College and spending most of his time in his dorm room. He occasionally gets outdoor on campus and attempts to strike out with women, but finds that things always go horribly wrong. After hearing about a reality TV dating show visiting his college campus, he resolves to revitalize his life and win. Over the course of the game, Larry sets out on an epic search for love (or its equivalent) and finds that things don't always go as planned. Written by
Did You Know?
, the creator of Leisure Suit Larry and designer of all previous games in the series, did not participate in the production of this game. The publisher wanted to hire Al as a consultant, but the producers never intended for Al to be heavily involved in the game. As published on his website, Al strongly disapproved of the final product, pointing out that it was "not an adventure game. There are no real puzzles, no interactive dialog, no narrator, no character development, and nearly no plot". See more
