Although the subplots in this film were a bit underdeveloped, the acting was solid and this film had a very good main story line. The Hannible and Laurence characters play well off of each other. Also, the supporting cast put forward some strong performances.
Despite the fact that the first scene of the main story line (the pool scene) is not very well shot, the remaining content of the film gets consistently better. There was a definite personality to the performances that these lower budget films often lack. The sarcastically self-centered character of Hannible was particularly interesting to watch, as the actor portraying him allows us to wonder if the character might give into a sense of guilt, although this never actually happens. The other less flamboyant characters play strong subtle performances, which create interest contrasts and dynamics.
As one who appreciates low budget independent film, I feel this is a project worth having a look at.
