Storyline

Generous and honest to a fault, multi-millionaire Amit Rai is always ready to lend a helping hand to the needy, even his business associates. His employee and close friend, Nekiram, warns him against doing this, but in vain. Then hard times visit him and his family, and he loses all his wealth and money, even his palatial home and items therein are to be auctioned. All the people he had helped, his business associates, etc. even his fiancee, Sunita, abandons him. Penniless, homeless, and with a widowed mother, and an unwed sister, he re-locates near a seashore community, to begin life anew as a fisherman. It is there he finds out that his financial ruin did not take place by chance, but it was a deliberate and deceptive plot to rid him of his riches. Written by rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Nice concept though a bit flawed
29 October 2014 | by (India) – See all my reviews

Mehmood was one of the finest actors we had ever, He gave us several memorable films like Kunwara Baap, Bombay to Goa.etc This film too reunites him with S.Ramanathan who directed Bombay to Goa(1972). The film has a good concept of how money and position in society is given more importance in today's world. The film is well handled, it starts off well, The initial scenes are easygoing but the twist in the tale is well handled However the issue with the film is the end when all things are resolved makes things look shaky and has many loopholes but yet the film is superb

Direction is good Music is superb, the song Sabse Bada Rupaiya sung by Mehmood is still remembered and remixed in 2005 in Abhishek Bachchan's Bluffmaster(2005)

Mehmood is superb as Nekiram and does a superb job, Vinod Mehra is good, Mousami Chaterjee is likable, Farida Jalal is superb, Jeevan is as usual, rest are okay
