Yellowstone is a park, but it's also the deadliest volcano on Earth. Beneath it, a sleeping 'dragon' is stirring. When an earthquake opens a crack for magma to seep through, other warning signs of an eruption start popping up, but they are ignored or dismissed as 'minor'. But when they learn an eruption will happen, panic breaks out through people of the USA and the world. This is a tale told from former Yellowstone scientists, who recall the final days before Yellowstone erupted, and everything changed forever. Written by

This is the best documentary I've ever seen. After seeing it for the first time in August '08 on BBC I started doing a lot of Internet research on the real Supervolcano that's currently underneath Yellowstone. It really is interesting and horrifically amazing that something like this actually exists on our planet. It's something that most people have never heard about and this documentary is the one thing I think that people should watch and be aware of. Although the supervolcano underneath Yellowstone isn't due to erupt for centuries, I think people should be aware of the situation. People are worried about Armageddon happening yet they have no idea about the supervolcanoes on our planet that could do just as must damage as an asteroid. Anything could cause an eruption so no one is really sure when exactly Yellowstone will erupt.
Michael Riley did an outstanding performance and really put enthusiasm into his character. I really enjoyed watching him in this documentary. The graphics were also brilliant. It's weird saying that since most documentaries have crappy graphics with absolutely no effort put into them whatsoever but Supervolcano was done extremely well.
The first time I saw it, I was so hooked on it afterwards that the next couple weeks it was all I thought about. All I kept thinking was "How can be people not be aware of this?" and "What if it erupted today?" Actually, if it did erupt today it would wipe out 80% of living species (including humans) and would change the global temperature. Similar to Armageddon. It would wipe out most of the United States and spread across the world with 1 cm of ash on the ground.
If you ever have time, check out Supervolcano on Youtube or if its on BBC, Discovery Channel. Internet is your best source of looking it up, specifically Youtube. It gives you all the parts of the documentary. Its a great way of learning about Yellowstone's supervolcano and what would happen if it erupted again. (It erupted 3 times since the birth of the volcano in the last couple million years, the last eruption being 640,000 years ago).
Of all the documentaries out there, I highly recommend this one! If I ever see this in stores I'm definitely buying it, or ordering it online.
I give this 10/10!
