Barricade Makes His Return In The Latest Transformers: The Last Knight Reveal

9 August 2016 6:40 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

We saw Barricade's vehicle form - a 2016 Ford Mustang police car - back in June and now, the official Transformers Twitter account has revealed his new-and-improved robot form. The Decepticon sentry is all-set to make his return to the franchise in Transformers: The Last Knight after being previously defeated by Nest soldiers in the series' third installment Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. The extent of his role is yet-to-be seen, but it's a pretty safe bet we'll get to see him cause some major trouble for Optimus Prime and the Autobots. Check out his new look below: Keep calm and hail Megatron. #transformers pic.twitter.com/VkKQyDl3n0 — #Transformers (@transformers) August 10, 2016 Transformers: The Last Knight is the upcoming fifth film in the live-action film series, currently expected to be released June 23, 2017. Hound Returns In Transformers: The Last Knight

9 August 2016 4:16 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Over the past few weeks, filmmaker Michael Bay has been releasing all sorts of goodies online. From character profiles to posters and behind-the-scenes videos, fans of the Transformers series have found a lot to love.

Earlier today, Bay released another Transformer reveal via his Twitter account. As with Crosshairs and Drift before him, fans will notice that Bay's reveal isn't a completely new character, but rather a return of a fan favorite from Transformers: Age Of Extinction.

As you can see in the photo above, Hound returns with an ironic twist: he'll be serving as the team medic this time around. This, I'm sure will be played for all sorts of laughs, seeing as he "always has his finger on the trigger." We'll see in The Last Knight just how long he'll be able to maintain this role and be a competent stand-in for Ratchet, given Ratchet's untimely demise in Age Of Extinction. »

Transformers: The Movie 30th Anniversary Trailer Revisits The 80s Classic

9 August 2016 2:09 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Michael Bay is currently working on his fifth installment in the live-action Transformers franchise, and there are lots more to come after that. Even though the movies continue to make money at the box office, for a great many fans, these new sequels do not represent what they want out of the Transformers saga. For a lot of people, the best entry ever made featuring Optimus Prime and the gang was Transformers: The Movie, the animated version which came out in 1986. Lucky for us, a brand new, 4k release is on the way.

Shout! Factory and Hasbro have just released a new trailer, which is up on YouTube, showcasing the restoration of the movie for the Transformers 30th anniversary release. The trailer is definitely on the cheesy side of things, but all of the footage from Transformers: The Movie looks absolutely fantastic, and the special features seem well worth it for fans as well. »

From the all-new Sqweeks to the recent addition of Onslaught, Michael Bay’s roster of Transformers is growing and growing fast.

With little under a year until Transformers: The Last Knight pulls into theaters, the director’s Twitter feed continues to be a hive of activity for those robots in disguise, and today heralds confirmation that Hound, the hulking Autobot and healer, will be making a return in the 2017 sequel.

Embedded below is the full picture of Hound, which pins the giant as a “boisterous Autobot commando,” one who seemingly always has his finger on the trigger. He’ll be rubbing mechanical shoulders with Hot Rod, Bumblebee, Barricade, Drift, Megatron and, of course, Optimus Prime.

Transformers: The Movie 30th Anniversary Blu-ray trailer emerges

Chris Cummins Aug 9, 2016

Just in time for the 30th anniversary of comes this look at the upcoming Transformers: The Movie Blu-ray special edition....

30 years ago, the innocence of a generation was brutally snuffed out with the release of Transformers: The Movie, the audacious and wildly entertaining feature film spin-off of the mega-popular animated series (and the Hasbro toy line) that had the cojones to kill off Optimus Prime...and several other beloved characters. Of course, the idea behind this cartoon culling was that kids would fall in love with Hot Rod and the new robots introduced in this film, they'd run out and buy their corresponding toys. But such unchecked capitalism had an unexpected side effect: It made audiences realize just how much they loved Optimus Prime in the first place.

Robot friend, we hardly knew ye.

Optimus eventually made his comeback, but at the time, this was a devastating »

Transformers 5 First Look at Autobot Crosshairs

8 August 2016 9:32 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

As production continues on Paramount's Transformers: The Last Knight, director Michael Bay has taken it upon himself to introduce all of these old and new robots in disguise. Over the weekend, we got a new look at Autobots Drift and Sqweeks, and today we have another Autobot warrior, Crosshairs. We first met Crosshairs in 2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction, and he appears to be quite identical in appearance from the previous blockbuster.

Director Michael Bay revealed the photo on Twitter last night, teasing that the only thing green about Crosshairs is his color, inferring that he is quite experienced in battle. In Transformers: Age of Extinction, Crosshairs' vehicular form was a lime green 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray. Since this Autobot is practically identical in appearance from the previous movie, it's believed that he will still transform into a newer model of the Corvette Stingray, but we don't know for sure. Celebrating 30 Years of Transformers: The Movie

Today marks the 30th anniversary of Transformers: The Movie hitting theaters and in honor of the event, our site's biggest Transformers fan talks about his experience upon seeing it for the first time all those years ago.

Transformers: The Last Knight Shows Off New Autobot Sqweeks

7 August 2016 2:54 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Back in June, just a few weeks after production started on Transformers: The Last Knight, director Michael Bay unveiled the first look at a new robot in disguise, dubbed Sqweeks, who was seen in a photo alongside the director and actress Isabela Moner. Today we have a new glimpse at Sqweeks, which confirms that this robot is an Autobot, and its name is spelled "Sqweeks" instead of "Squeeks" as originally believed. This robot is also described as "a human's best friend".

This photo debuted on the official Twitter for the Transformers franchise, which recently posted a new photo of Drift before this Sqweeks image. We have previously seen some of our favorite Autobots and Decepticons such as Megatron, Bumblebee and Barricade. Production started in June, but we don't know how long filming is set to last for.

Drift will be a black and red Mercedes-amg Gt R in Transformers 5. And it represents a completely new look for this fan-favorite Autobot. The character was first introduced on the big screen in 2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction. He is voiced by Ken Watanabe. The actor returns to reprise the role a second time.

Hot Rod Joins Transformers: The Last Knight

4 August 2016 2:52 PM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

Last night, Director of the Transformers film series, Michael Bay, released concept art for one of the most iconic Transformers from the cartoon series, Hot Rod.  His arrival could spell doom for another iconic character.

According to Michael Bay's description of Hot Rod, he's supposed to be Bumblebee's Brother-in-Arms which means that having him as a new spoofed up Camaro would make the most sense.  In fact, his features look reminiscent of one.  It's a far cry from the 80's version most fans grew to love.

While most casual moviegoers may see this as just another autobot being added to the Transformers franchise, Hot Rod is so much more.  In fact, it could mean the actual death of Optimus Prime.  Of the many deaths of Optimus Prime, the one that stung the most was when he died in the 1986 Transformers: The Movie.  Eventually Hot Rod took up the mantle »

Transformers: The Last Knight: New Profile Reveals Classic Character Hot Rod

4 August 2016 10:48 AM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

The marketing machine over at Paramount is in full swing for the latest film in the Transformers series from Michael Bay. They've slowly been rolling out characters, posters, videos, and the works from the upcoming action flick.

This next reveal comes in the form of Hot Rod, the Autobot leader from the 1986 animated film who takes charge as Rodimus Prime after Optimus Prime's and Ultra Magnus' deaths.

Even more interesting is the accompanying comment to the photo, which reads: "Hot Rod: This is no cartoon." Is this supposed to be as foreboding as it sounds?

Take a look at the reveal below!

So here comes the big question, I suppose: what does this mean for Optimus Prime? I won't pretend that Bay has treated the source material with any real reverence, but it is strange they'd introduce Hot Rod at this point in the game. We do know that Paramount »

Hot Rod to appear in Transformers: The Last Knight

4 August 2016 9:19 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

As production continues on Transformers: The Last Knight, Paramount Pictures has confirmed another new face to the franchise and its a name longtime Transformers fans will well recognize. Hot Rod, the rambunctious and rebellious young Autobot, has been revealed as a member of the cast in what seems to be a repainted deco of Bumblebee.

Hot Rod was first introduced in the animated Transformers: The Movie in 1986 and voiced by The Breakfast Club‘s Judd Nelson. He’s high spirited, but too quick to action as proven when his meddling allowed Megatron to deliver a fatal blow to Optimus Prime. By the end of the movie, however, Hot Rod was revealed to be The Chosen One, destined to destroy Unicron and took up the mantle of Rodimus Prime. Despite wearing the Prime moniker, fans never really took to Hot Rod or Rodimus as the G1 series continued, mostly due to »
