It's not the bust that's tasty

In 1994, police in Melbourne, Australia, raided a nightclub called Tasty that catered to a mixed gay/straight/transgender crowd. Their zeal for finding drugs led them to strip search an astonishing 463 patrons, setting in motion a landmark court case that saw the police humiliated and forced to ante up over $4,000,000 Australian to their victims. This sprightly documentary recounts the story of what happened through a lively series of interviews with many of those subjected to the searchs, as well as some well integrated recreations of the infamous raid. Though clearly traumatized by the events, most of those interviewed here seem to have also taken strength from their ordeal. An uplifting film that proves that justice can, every now and then, prevail.
