Nitschewo is a strange word. And this is a strange film. I don't mean this disrespectful, on the contrary. When I saw this film almost a year ago, I was about the only one in the audience, probably because the reviews in the newspapers where pretty lousy (why, I don't know) and there was next to no advertising for the film either. I went anyway because I had a crush on the actress who played Elise. But what I saw then was (in my eyes) a small miracle. A German film that convincingly portrays love and passion? That is more than rare! a German film that makes you cry? Even rarer. In my eyes this is a cult film! I never read Goethe's "Werther" but I think it must be pretty similar. The story made me really think about my own life and my love relationships and in the end it made me so sad, that I considered doing what the main character thinks about doing in the film. But the next day I awoke happy, with the feeling "Hey, that is what life is all about! Do not compromise!" I wish more people could see this film. I really recommend it. Btw:
