Belhorizon is a modest film about vacuity of human life. What is really amazing about this film is that it uses some mind boggling dream like sequences to portray absence of thought or intelligence which is usually associated with people from rich and bourgeois class. In Belhorizon,Ines Rabadan has been overtly critical of rich people. She shows them as uncertain, hesitant, irresponsible souls who are much too engrossed in their own ideas, desires and fake inner worlds. We see them trying to kill time but they are unable to move the hands of time as nothing pleases them.A shooting session conducted to enliven their listless lives ends in a fiasco. What we see in the film is not a new theme for world cinema. In the past,on many occasions Pasolini and Bunuel are known to have exorcised the demons of petty bourgeoisie. They knew absolutely well how such people could be silenced. It is this ability to suppress bourgeois ideology that is missing in Ines Rabadan's film as there is no coherency between two groups : bourgeois people and poor class people.

OK I saw this movie at a film festival here in Santo Domingo. The film doesn't try to be pretentious nor does it try to be anything really, it feels as though it were some kind of experiment by the director. The editing sucks, it's acting is minimalistic, it tries to be a little surreal at times, it is pointless, the music sucks, and there is no story. I felt like a hero just sitting through the entire thing. I was hoping something happened, nothing happens, and the few things that do happen make no sense at all. I was hoping at one point in the movie that the tripods of "War of the Worlds" would appear and disintegrate every worthless character in the film. 1/10 one of the worst films I've ever seen.
