Trivia

Zuko was one of the last characters to be written into the show. The Fire Lord was meant to be the shows main antagonist, but the writers realized he would not be able to cause Aang and his friends trouble sitting from his throne. Zuko was then written into the show. See more »

Goofs

The design of the white lotus tile changes through the course of the series. The first design is shown in the Book 1 episode "The Waterbending Scroll", when Iroh holds up the tile he finds in his sleeve. The second design is seen in the Book 2 episode "The Desert", when Iroh makes the first move in the game. (The old man that Iroh is playing against confirms it is the white lotus.) Then, in the Book 3 episode "Sokka's Master", the tile given to Sokka by the butler more closely resembles the first design. See more »

And although his airbending skills are great, he still has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can ...

A great show for Nick, and it's about time!
4 March 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Wow. I am amazed at how good this show is. The anime-style look and feel of it make it a warm addition to nick's mostly dull lineup. Don't get me wrong, nick has some good animated shows, like Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom is one of my favorites. I think that it is good that they have a program with this kind of look that isn't from an established Nickelodeon company (like frederator for fairly oddparents).

Anyway, I think that Avatar: The Last Airbender is a good program, and is sure to be a hit as long as Nick doesn't screw it up. It seems to have the right amount of humor and action to keep it appealing to me (and I'm 19!). As long as the creators can keep the show original and stop Nick from bastardizing it by saying things like "its too violent" or "You can't have Saaka be sexist." Stay the course and you'll be gold!
