Werewolves On The Moon: Versus Vampires – Issue #1 of 3 (Comic Review)

Werewolves On The Moon: Versus Vampires – Issue #1 of 3

Dark Horse Comics | Written by Dave Land and the Fillbach Brothers | Art by The Fillbach Brothers

What would a werewolf on the moon do? Would he constantly be a werewolf, or do the lunar cycles still take control of the human skin? Would he howl at the lunar surface or back at planet Earth? Would he be more in control of his actions with the moon inches from his feet or totally out of control like this here comic book? So many questions and so little time to be serious about it all. And then the vampires come along and ruin everything. Don’t they always?

A comic book that doesn’t stray far from the title, Werewolves On The Moon: Versus Vampires is what it is. Or what it hopes to be: a silly farce with the whole media craze on vampires and werewolves,

Jackson Is In-Flight Movie Lover

23 June 2009 12:00 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Samuel L. Jackson has a novel way of entertaining himself on long-haul flights - he watches his own movies.

The Pulp Fiction star loves to catch up on films when he is travelling by plane - and always tries to find blockbusters in which he has a leading role.

And he has a surprise favourite for his in-flight viewing - critically-panned 2006 movie Snakes On A Plane.

He says, "If there's nothing else on that I'm interested in, I know my movies will interest me. I watched Snakes On A Plane. I love that movie. Great title, you know. The execution of it was pretty good. People are always asking me about a sequel but I don't know what that would be."

DVD: Review: Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus

9 June 2009 10:00 PM, PDT | From avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news

Two prehistoric creatures, thawed out after 10 million years of being frozen mid-combat, have surfaced off the coasts of California and Japan: Mega Shark (a really, really big shark) and Giant Octopus (a really, really big octopus) are about to do blurry, visually incoherent battle once more and The Internet cannot resist such a schlocky proposition, especially with the names Deborah Gibson and Lorenzo Lamas above the title. Welcome to Snakes On A Plane 2009 (or in this case, Shark Eats A Plane), another example of an idea that takes root in the popular imagination and waits for the movie ...

Dead Snow – Trailer

6 June 2009 12:38 PM, PDT | From The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news

Nazi. Zombies. If this idea has always only felt like a dream (or a good time on Call of Duty), fear not. Your special day of the undead is coming.

Confused? You’re going to have to just watch this trailer first. But achtung, y’all – this one’s mildly gory.

First off, you may be asking, “Who is this Harald Zwart presenter guy? Is he like the Lloyd Kaufman of Norway?” Technically, no. But he has Agent Cody Banks and Pink Panther 2 on his directorial resume, so I suppose that answer is up for interpretation.

Now since that’s been answered, we can start scratching our heads at everything else raised by the Dead Snow trailer. For example, this movie has a great premise, but it still needs to follow through with with its gimmick (something that people thought Snakes On A Plane didn’t do very well. I disagree). We need gore,

Lyndsy is Hot

22 May 2009 2:18 AM, PDT | From JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news

Lyndsy Fonseca, who I think is purposely trying to fuck up my spellcheck, has signed on to co-star with John Cusack in the upcoming comedy Hot Tub Time Machine. The comedy, which has the distinction of having one of the catchiest names to come out of Hollywood since Snakes On A Plane or Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus, stars Cusack, Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson as buddies who pass out drunk at a ski resort hot tub and are magically transported back to 1987. Fonseca will play Cusack's main...

One who will passionately launch into the merits of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise then turn and talk about his latest XBox "Left for Dead" accomplishments in the same breath. Not long ago, he departed a pretty major studio for more creative pastures. Below you'll find all of the details. Congrats, Jeff, you done us proud. Snakes Director Tackles Humpty Dumpty

27 April 2009 11:00 PM, PDT | From EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news

David R. Ellis, best known for directing the promising but ultimately disappointing Snakes On A Plane, has signed up for a new film, called Humpty Dumpty. But there's not one of the king's horses or the king's men in sight, since this is a science fiction horror - in 3-D!Yes, that's right: the film will see a half-human, half-alien creature begin a murder spree after his alien mother is abused by two rednecks in the Deep South. Ok, it differs in a few tiny respects from the traditional nursery rhyme, and we're going to go ahead and guess that the alien hybrid doesn't look like an egg (cause, y'know, not normally that scary, except in some of these instances) but we're sure that the title's meaning will become clear.Billy Majestic is writing the script, which is due to go into production in September.

David Ellis Sits on Humpy Dumpty's Wall -- Making a film that sounds more insane than Snakes On A Plane

27 April 2009 | From Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news

Written by Matt Goldberg David Ellis is a fun director. Not only does he have the first 3-D "Final Destination" movie coming out at the end of the summer, but all "Final Destination" movies have to live in the shadow of the opening death scene he crafted in "Final Destination 2". While I found "Snakes on a Plane" underwhelming, he did create a national ironic hipster landmark and the film was rather glorious once the snakes were on said plane. But all of that will pale into comparison compared to the brief synopsis of his next film "Humpy Dumpty". No, this isn't a tale of Hollywood trying to expand a children's rhyme all the way to a feature film. This is far better. Brace yourself: The 3-D sci-fi horror pic is about a half-human, half-alien creature who embarks on a murderous rampage after his alien mother ...

Rise: Blood Hunter (Tribeca Flashback Review)

21 April 2009 7:21 PM, PDT | From Fangoria.com | See recent Fangoria news

“Even if you hate the movie, it’ll still look great,” said Rise: Blood Hunter writer/director Sebastian Gutierrez, introducing his film’s world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival and acknowledging the contribution of double-Oscar-winning cinematographer John Toll. As it turns out, I disagreed with both parts of that statement to different degrees; Toll’s images are good if unremarkable, and Rise itself, belying its long stint on the shelf, is a swift, efficient B-movie that doesn’t go anywhere surprising, but makes the trip an entertaining one.

Gutierrez (who previously scripted and helmed cable’s The She Creature, wrote Gothika and contributed to the screenplays of Snakes On A Plane and the remake of The Eye) gets Rise’s ball rolling with an attention-grabbing sex-and-violence sequence. He then jumps back six months to reveal how Sadie Blake (Lucy Liu) was transformed from an ambitious reporter digging into the

Real Life Snakes On A Plane Invade Australian Airline -- I smell a sequel!

17 April 2009 | From Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news

Written by Nicole Pedersen They all laughed when Samuel L Jackson announced he would be starring in a movie called “Snakes on a Plane”. Hell, I laughed. It was a ridiculous premise. Snakes couldn’t really take over a plane… or could they? Earlier this week in Australia four baby pythons escaped from a container that was holding them during a flight from Alice Springs to Melbourne. The container was in the storage area and the snakes were not missed until after the plane had landed - leading to a four hour search and at least one angry outburst of “Enough! I’ve had it with these mother fucking snakes on this mother fucking plane!!” The plane in question missed two scheduled flights while a reptile expert searched in vain for the four non-venomous reptiles. The craft was fumigated and has resumed service as of ...
