"Do you know what's the difference between you and Ginger? It's simply the same difference between all the wonderful romantic dreamy 40's Hollywood old movies and the harsh rough violent action movies of today." A close meanings to these words are said by Yehia during his quarrel with his American son Alexander when they were talking about America. These words do summarize the complicated relationship that ties Chahine with America, beginning from being the holy vivid dream to him as a film-maker, ending to his feeling of losing his way in its streets as shown at the end of the film. A very romantic beautiful touching film, full of emotional songs, great music pieces and outstanding dancing shows as well! One of Chahine's best at all with a deeper view towards Chahine's private life and his political and ideological thoughts, concerning the idea that America is not being a dream any more, and it isn't still the gate of freedom and beauty as it used to be. Finally, If you have watched the previous three chapters of Chahine's autobiography and adore them as i did, Don't miss this film!
