New Paddington Image Reveals Nicole Kidman as a Sinister Taxidermist

27 August 2014 9:43 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

The Weinstein Company has released a new Paddington image from director Paul King’s (The Mighty Boosh) upcoming film about the lovable bear.  The story centers on said bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who is lost at Paddington Station in London, adopted by a kind family, and then sets out in search of an explorer who inspired his aunt years before.  The first trailer revealed the tomfoolery that ensues, and while the pic had a bit of a creative shakeup when Colin Firth opted to step down from main voicing duties, I still remain hopeful that Paddington will be an adorable family friendly adventure comedy.  Today’s new image reveals Nicole Kidman’s character, who happens to be the antagonist of the pic—a sinister, seductive taxidermist. Hit the jump to take a look at the new Paddington image.  The live-action cast also includes Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, »

The Inbetweeners 2 Sets New UK Box Office Record

7 August 2014 2:42 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

It probably comes as no surprise that The Inbetweeners 2 has set a brand new record for the ‘Opening day for a comedy in the UK’ beating the record set by its predecessor in 2011. The sequel has brought in a whopping in £2.75m in one day.

The second movie sees the four bumbling fools Will, Simon, Jay & Neil (played by Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison) and   head to Australia on a gap year and we’re promised the movie is bigger, ruder and funnier than the first. The fact so many if us Brits flocked to the cinema yesterday to see it is a testament to the popularity of the show which started on Channel 4 and ran for 3 series climaxing in the big screen treatment in 2011 with The Inbetweeners Movie.

Nsfw: Watch The First Proper Trailer For ‘The Inbetweeners 2′

18 June 2014 10:28 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

It doesn’t really matter what you say about The Inbetweeners Movie. Sure, it wasn’t a great movie, but it was a very, very profitable one. Making £57,699,138 worldwide, from a £3.5 million budget, the film was very, very profitable, so the arrival of The Inbetweeners 2 two years on was a given. This time the action switches down under (tee-hee), and the TV series and the original film’s writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris return to pen the script, and also turn a hand to directing. The first proper, dirty as you like trailer has just been unleashed for the movie, which arrives in cinemas on the 6th August.

Colin Firth Will No Longer Provide the Voice of Paddington

17 June 2014 11:40 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

The recent trailer for Paddington made the movie look fairly awful, but I was still curious to hear what he would sound like with Colin Firth.  It looks like I'll never have the answer.  According to EW, Firth, who was set to provide the voice of Paddington Bear, has decided to leave the production.  "After a period of denial," says Firth, "we’ve chosen 'conscious uncoupling.'"  After seeing Paddington in action, Firth says he's "come to the sad realization that he simply doesn’t have my voice."  I assumed his vocal performance would bring a level of dignity to the character, and that apparently no longer fits with the earwax-tasting, toilet-dunking Paddington we saw in the trailer.  Firth did add that "I’m pestering them all with suggestions for finding a voice worthy of him." Although finding a replacement and re-recording the lines will be a bit of a headache, »

Colin Firth leaving as voice of 'Paddington' movie -- Exclusive

17 June 2014 11:00 AM, PDT | EW - Inside Movies | See recent EW.com - Inside Movies news »

Paddington is losing his voice.

Colin Firth, who was providing the impeccably polite tones of the stuffed bear in a read hat, has split with the film in the midst of production.

“After a period of denial, we’ve chosen ‘conscious uncoupling,’” The King’s Speech Oscar-winner said in a statement to EW.

It’s rare for an actor to leave a project this late, with a trailer for the December movie having already been released. But it’s not uncommon for voice actors to drop out periodically.

Last year, Scarlett Johansson famously replaced Samantha Morton as the disembodied voice »

'Paddington' causes trouble in new trailer

12 June 2014 9:47 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

"Paddington" has arrived, and London will never be the same. Colin Firth voices the beloved bear in the upcoming live action/CG take on the literary icon which finds an impeccably polite, marmalade-loving bear set adrift in modern-day London. It also stars "Downton Abbey's" Hugh Bonneville as the man who takes in Paddington, only to have his bathroom ruined.  The new trailer is more of a teaser really, centered on Paddington's attempts to figure out such everyday conveniences as toothbrushes, toilets, and escalator instructions. The latter results in the trailer's most inspired gag in which he misinterprets a sign reading "Dogs must be carried." Directed by "The Mighty Boosh's" Paul King and produced by "Harry Potter" vet David Heyman, "Paddington" also stars Nicole Kidman, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent and new "Doctor Who" star Peter Capaldi. "Paddington" arrives this Christmas. »

Watch: New Trailer For 'Paddington' Starring Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman & Hugh Bonneville

12 June 2014 7:32 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

It's hard to think of a producer more successful right now than David Heyman. Before anyone had even heard of them, he picked up the rights to the "Harry Potter" books from J.K. Rowling, and turned them into the biggest franchise in history. Beyond that, he's also been behind megahits "I Am Legend" and "Gravity," the latter of which brought critical acclaim as well as commercial success. And for his next trick, he's planning on introducing the world to a bear, in the shape of "Paddington," a new film version of Michael Bond's long-popular creation, who came from deepest darkest Peru, left at the London station that gives him his name, and adopted by the Brown family. The new film, directed by "The Mighty Boosh" helmer Paul King, is a live-action CGI mix starring Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington, and with Nicole Kidman as the villain, Hugh Bonneville »

Aaaaaaaah! Brace Yourself For Steve Oram's Monkey Romeo!

9 January 2014 10:00 AM, PST | Twitch | See recent Twitch news »

Here's a little something odd for fans of British comedy:Word is out that Sightseers star Steve Oram will be making his directorial debut with Aaaaaaaah! - eight 'a's and proper punctuation a vital part of the title, thanks - a film that he describes as Romeo And Juliet meets The Planet Of The Apes. What on earth does that mean? It means no dialogue - not in any recognizable language, anyway - but with all of the actors grunting and otherwise behaving like monkeys. And, yeah, that sounds crazy on paper and it sounds crazy brilliant once you learn who else is involved. The Mighty Boosh's Julian Barrett and Green Wing's Julian Rhind-Tutt will play the rival clan leaders with Hannah Hoekstra (Hemel) and Oram's regular...

Noel Fielding debunks rumours of Mighty Boosh tour and movie

8 January 2014 5:20 AM, PST | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

Reports of a Mighty Boosh revival have been greatly exaggerated, according to one half of surreal comedy duo

Comedian Noel Fielding has denied reports that The Mighty Boosh are set to reform for a tour and a film.

Reports circulated on Monday, including on this website, that Fielding and his former comedy partner Julian Barratt were working on new material, after the Mail on Sunday quoted Fielding as saying: "We're going on tour early in the New Year."

Fielding and Barratt had reunited as the surrealist double act last November after four years away. Following two warm-up gigs at the Soho theatre in London, they performed a half-hour set – a mixture of old and new material – at Jack Black's Festival Supreme in California as their alter-egos Vince Noir and Howard Moon. They were joined by regular collaborators Dave Brown, who plays Bollo the Ape, and Rich Fulcher.

The Mighty Boosh have announced plans for a tour and movie.

They have now spoken about hopes of a new tour, which will be their first since 2009.
