In both films a man plans and commits a murder of his secret lover in an attempt to save his marriage. In both films they later succeed in life. Not to mention that both movies are written and directed by Woody Allen who once commented that with Match Point he wanted to "refresh the ideas I brought in Crimes and Misdemeanors".
