Let me start by telling you that you will not be able to find Boxing Scenes in any American or any other film that equal to those made in Boy s Tenyu, a great Russian blockbuster. The tension, the suspense is 10 on the scale of 10. The slow-motion technique used in creating those beautifully shot brutal scenes is just in place. Watch the film just for them, but, believe me, you will not be able to turn it off later;)
Though the film starts strongly and captures the viewers attention it gets a little bit boring towards the end, but that doesn't ruin the atmosphere. Denis Nikiforov, an absolutely unknown actor prior to this film shows that there actually are young talented Russian actors out there, unlike such films a Dazhe ne Dumai: Ten Nezavisimosti might suggest.
I'm certainly using such words as "great" and "talanted" in this short comment comparing Boy s Tenyu to other blockbusters which are in majority weak in the aspects mentioned earlier. The Soundtrack deserves mentioning as well since it is one of the best form 2005.
