Mia, Rocco and Lujan are the only names to be kept from Rebel's Way (2002). All the following characters were renamed for Rebelde (2004): Pablo was renamed Diego; Marizza was renamed Roberta; Luna became Lupita; Felicitas was renamed Celina; Manuel is named Miguel; Sergio became Leon: Guido was renamed Giovanni; Marcos became Teo; Sonia is named Alma; Santiago became Enrique; Marcel is called Pascual; Blas is named Gastón; and Sandra became Mayra.

When telling the story of the "Amor Eterno" Island, Miguel says the man in the tale is named Manuel, his character's name in Rebel's Way (2002).

In some occasions, Alma says goodbye to his daughter Roberta by saying "ciao Marizza". This is joke to the fact that in Rebel's Way (2002) the character of Roberta's name is Marizza.

The series spawned a huge and strong Brazilian fandom. In 2013, was re-aired by SBT in Brazil (following an intense fan requesting on Twitter) under the tag line of "Original" ("Original One"), in response to Rede Record's "Rebelde". However, Rebel's Way (2002) is the actual original version, that never aired in the country.

When deciding a name for the band ("RBD"), Miguel suggests "Erreway," which is the name of the original Argentine Rebel's Way (2002) band.
