As part of the storyline leading up to the Undertaker-Booker T. match, Booker had consulted a voodoo witch, who told him to use dirt from an unmarked grave. Josh Matthews interviewed Booker T, who mentioned that his bag of soil would guarantee his victory. It didn't.

Eddie Guerrero was supposed to come up bleeding from John Bradshaw Layfield's chair shot. However, he hit an artery instead of a vein and blood poured out for the rest of the match. He lost so much blood that he couldn't wrestle at full strength for another two weeks. He was rushed away in an ambulance after the show.

The roster had been reshuffled and, with Brock Lesnar leaving WWE for the National Football League and Chris Benoit getting switched to WWE Raw (1993), the brand had lost two of its biggest stars, and other wrestlers were either taking time off or leaving the company.
