Christopher Titus's somewhat popular one-man stand-up comedy routine finally came to cable television (first to Showtime and then to Comedy Central) a little over a year ago, and in this individual's opinion it was indeed one of the best I have ever seen! Complete with his over-exaggerated mannerisms and facial expressions, a nearly unbeatable sardonic wit and sometimes bittersweet examinations of his rocky life --that has apparently had more ups and downs than a roller coaster-- which he bravely shares one right after another I can't help but think that I'm bearing witness to one of the most underrated and talented comedians working today! Lots of people out there have lived rough lives that no one, and I mean no one, would want to envy but how many of them can come out the other end like him and give a nearly two-hour performance that will make you both roll with laughter, and shed an occasional tear simply because you know that virtually everything that he shares with his live audience (whom he is strangely able to connect with like few comedians can) is based in some, if not the exact truth? It's pretty powerful stuff you'll be seeing here folks! Overall, I personally consider 2004's "Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding" to be up there with some of the most well-known and respected stand-up performances in history, i.e. Richard Pryor, Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg just to name a small few, and I like a number of others on this site think that a thorough DVD release is long overdue!
